My grandmother's blouse

Some months ago, when I was peeking in my grandmother's wardrobe in Florence, I found this silky pink blouse and I thought it was beautiful.

My grandma told me she had created it when she was young and that she would have been really happy to give it to me as a present.

 

On Christmas Day I received this lovely sweater and I thought it would have been perfect to wear with the blouse.

It's funny because at the moment I'm reading a book entitled "The secret lives of dresses",by Erin Mc Kean, that I found in a second hand shop, and I think it fits perfectly with the story of this outfit.

 For my makeup I used:

- eye pencil: Neve Cosmetics "Pioggia/Taupe"

- mascara: Locherber "Extreme black"

- mineral blush: Neve Cosmetics " Creamy"

- lipliner: Neve Cosmetics "Ballerina Pink"

A new Purchase!!!

Hi darlings!

I saw this padded jacket in November in a shop called " Subdued" which has always beautiful clothes and accessories.

At full price it was expensive, so I didn't buy it immediately and I hoped to find it on sale. Last Friday I went shopping with my friends and I incredibly found it half price!!!I was sooooo happy!!!!

I really like its burgundy color, the soft fur of his hood and how it fits me well!!!

I wore it yesterday when it was raining cats and dogs, the rain drops slied on its fabric and I remained dry and warm!!!

I'm so proud of my purchase!!!

10 Things That Make Me Happy

 

Inspired by the lovely Annatha from "Prattle and Froth", I want to share with you all the things that make me happy.

Let's begin with the first ten!!!

1.Walking in the woods

Walking in the woods is incredibly relaxing and pleasant in every season of the year, but especially in spring, when the undergrowth is filled with colorful buds, and in autumn when you can pick up chestnuts and the dry leaves creak under your feet.

2.French Bulldogs

Don't you think they are so cute???I saw this puppy in London a couple of years ago and I completely fell in love with it!!!French Bulldogs are really sweet, funny and cuddly and their nice face make me laugh a lot!

3.Tulips

Not everyone knows that tulip is the flower which represents the true love.

It would be amazing for me to go to Holland, during the flowering period, to see the fields of tulips of different colours. 

   

4.Making biscuits

I really love making biscuits, especially on Saturday afternoon, in order to have something yummy to eat for breakfast on Sunday morning.

It's a pleasure for me to wear my beautiful apron, open my cookbook to chose the recipe and begin to knead, and I also love to watch them growing in the oven and the delicious smell that fills the whole house.

5.Snow days

It's fantastic to wake up in the morning and discover the fields whitened by the snow. Last year me and my mum decided to go out for a walk with our snowboots and it was amazing to walk in the snowy paths, immersed in the silence.

6. Burning Shented Candles 

 Staying in my bed with a wool blanket, a beautiful book, a cup of herbal tea and a scented candle which burns in my bedside table and spreads its scent in my bedroom, is a perfect way to spend a rainy and chilly Sunday afternoon.

7.Reading 

 I've always loved books!It's wonderful to be carried away in another world and be guided by the story and its characters. A new book to read makes me feel happy and, when I go into a bookshop, I assume the expression of a child in a huge toy store!

8.Dark Chocolate

I'm addicted to dark chocolate because, due to my allergy to dairy products, it is the only one I can eat. Chocolate makes me feel stronger and happier in every moment and I can't help it!!!

9.My Best Friend

 Giulia is my best friend for many years and we studied and lived together in Venice. I really like spending time with her because she is funny, cheerful, intelligent, sweet, and we have many passions in common.

Life wouldn't be as beautiful as it is without her!!!

10. The Tales of Beatrix Potter

Beatrix Potter is my favourite children's writer. I received this book when I was five as Christmas present from my grandparents and I loved it so much!!!

Last summer I went to the Lake District to see her house, " Hill Top Farm", and it was a huge thrill for me!

Sometimes I like to reread her stories,even if I nearly know them by heart, and I feel like a child again.

Natural Makeup

I really want to tell you about a topic that I think is very important: the Natural Makeup, the organic cosmetics which are free of any parabens, synthethic perfumes or dyes and which use raw materials of vegetable origins such as oils, waxes, butters and other precious ingredients.
These products are respectful of the nature and they aren't tested on animals, but on makeup artists, so they are perfect for the consumers who wish to become more conscious and attentive and who want to make a deal with the nature and buy products which take their essences from her.
The organic cosmetics aren't aggressive and are well tolerated from people who have a sensitive skin, and they also allow you to avoid the appearance of problems such as dermatitis or allergies, which often are caused by a massive use of harmful chemicals, contained in traditional cosmetics.

 I discovered them two years ago when I had some allergy problems and I couldn't wear any cosmetic, because it caused me burning sensations, redness in my eyes and frequent lachrymation.

I've adored their products since the first time and I haven't left them anymore!!!

Tiny Beautiful Things Of The Week

Yesterday I finally finished my exams at Uni and I'm so relieved!!!:)
It was a nightmare to reach the department with my friend because there was high water in Venice and we didn't have our gumboots. However we didn't get discouraged and we bought some plastic bags in a supermarket to put on our shoes to keep them dry and we arrived on time, even if a little bit wet!
The exam went really well, so we reached our favourite patisserie to eat a delicious pastry with almonds and drink a boiling coffee!We always need something sweet to gratify us!!!

When I came back home I found Minù which was waiting for me in my bedroom...

 ...and also a gift from my parents for my name-day that made me really happy!

I really like this lovely photo album and I'm looking forward to fill it up with the pictures of my last holiday in Cambridge and Oxford!

Sunday's Outfit

 

Today has been a sunny and bright day and this morning I decided to wear this black dress with birds that I bought on sale two weeks ago:) When I saw it months ago It was love at the first sight, so I have been really glad to buy it half price!!!:)

To stay warm I put over the dress this wooly cardigan, which is beige like the birds, and I wore a pair of furry slippers, that are perfect on a chilly day!!!

And this is one of my favourite necklaces!I think it's perfect with this dress but I also wear it with sweaters and cardigans to beautify them!!!

Tiny Beautiful Things Of The Week

This week has been really demanding and stressful because of the study for the University exams, but I also had some beautiful moments with my family and my friends!
On Tuesday I had an exam so I spent the day in Venice with my best friend Giulia..it was a sunny day and we went in a tiny restaurant near Rialto's Bridge to eat delicious fried fish!!!:)

 

It was exactly what we needed!!!

After lunch we went in a little shop, called "Marco Polo",  which sells second hand books, where I bought two books that I really want to read: " When God was a Rabbit" by Sarah Winman and "The daylight gate" by Jeanette Winterson.

                                   Has anyone read these books?

I met Jeanette Winterson three years ago during a cultural event organised by the University of Cà Foscari and I really like her books. My favourite is "Oranges are not the only fruit" but I read also " Lighthousekeeping", " The Powerbook" and " Written on the body". She has an extraordinary imagination and her writing is humorous, funny and intense at the same time!

I want to leave you with a quote from "Oranges are not the only fruit", simple words which mean a lot for me because they express what I really want and what I will research in my life:

" I want someone who is fierce and will love me until death and know that love is as strong as death, and be on my side for ever and ever...There are many forms of love and affection, some people can spend their whole lives together without knowing each other's names.
